Yoga can be an ideal way to keep healthy and happy during pregnancy.
Whether you are new to yoga or well practised wanting to adapt familiar exercises to suit your pregnancy we can help you strengthen your mind, body and spirit in preparation for labour and delivery, we include yoga postures to address and relieve the common discomforts of pregnancy; relaxation techniques and breathing exercises to ease fear and anxiety; abdominal and pelvic floor toning to enhance postnatal recovery all of which will benefit the health of you and your growing baby.
This class is beneficial at anytime during pregnancy.
These classes are normally run as a course at the moment I have no pregnancy classes scheduled but pregnant ladies are welcome to our regular Thursday evening class and all poses are adapted to suit your trimester. Private Tuition either one to one or small group sessions can be organised, Please contact us for further information.
MOTHER AND BABY YOGA
These classes will aid your postnatal recovery through specifically adapted postures, whilst also spending quality and nurturing time to bond with your baby though fun and play.
This class is suitable for mums and babies, as soon as the mother has had her 6 week check up.
The class includes:
- Yoga postures incorporating your baby
- Breath work
- Some simple toning exercises for the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor, to re-establish core strength.
- A little time to play yoga with baby, stretch and sing and clap and have some fun interaction.
Classes are especially suitable for
- Stabilising the pelvis
- Strengthening the pelvic floor
- Toning the abdominal area
- Strengthening the lower back
- Relieving stress
- Stretching and Strengthening
The class is relaxed and informal, with lots of laughter, and you may feed and change your baby at any time.
We are all mums and realise that baby's just sometimes don't want to play ball, they may cry or sleep at all the wrong times, but please don't worry, just relax and enjoy the class as much as you can, dipping in and out as you need to.
Breathing and relaxation practices fit in around the needs of the babies - for example, if the majority of babies are feeding, we will go into some breathing practice or pelvic floor exercises rather than posture work.
Additional class information:
- If you have had a Caesarean, please seek your doctor's advice before attending.
- Please bring anything you need for the comfort of your baby.
- All yoga props are provided.
- Buggies and prams will be stored safely and securely.
MUMS AND TODDLERS YOGA
Mums and Toddlers Yoga is a natural continuation from mums and babies, Toddlers will join in the practice exploring the yoga world of movement, combining songs, stories, rhymes, games and props. The practise is fun, encouraging children to maintain their curiosity in movement and the world around them as well as develop self awareness and self confidence
Suitable for children aged 10 months to 4 years
These classes are run as workshops or courses as and when there is enough interest to run a class, if you have an NCT group or other mummy friends and would like to set up a session please contact me for further information.
"Wide range of classes. I try to go as often as i can to hatha yoga on tues & mum & baby yoga on fridays. The Fri class is great as I can take my toddler along too - Sharon has an area full of toys to keep him occupied so I can enjoy some yoga time with my baby.
I also did private pregnancy yoga with Sharon. Lovely relaxing sessions which prepared me for the birth of my daughter.
